It’s composition is mainly lazurite with calcite, sodalite, and pyrite. Lapis Lazuli is often found in shades of deep blue or purple which also contribute to the meaning behind its name. It was popular with artists who ground it down for its pigment. It is known for bringing wisdom and self-expression.
