CORTEBERT – A watch brand with a legacy in cutting edge watchmaking.
Cortebert was a Swiss watchmaking company that was established in 1790 in the town of Courtelary, located in the Swiss Jura Mountains. Known for its high-quality timepieces, Cortebert initially produced pocket watches, and later expanded into wristwatches.
Since the beginning, the Cortebert brand has stood at the forefront of the Swiss watchmaking industry. Through innovation and industry, the brand was highly regarded as a true manufacturer fashioning its own Cortebert movements. Besides its own range of very well-regarded pilot, railway and ocean carrier watches, the company was a notable supplier of movements to titans of the Swiss watch industry such as Rolex and Panerai.
Unfortunately, the Cortebert company ceased operations in the 1970s, but its legacy lives on through its vintage watches, which remain highly prized by collectors and enthusiasts around the world.

This is a vintage Cortebert mechanical wristwatch from the 1950's.
It is a manual wind watch with an original signed Cortebert Watch Co. movement caliber Cort.665, 17 jewels, sub-second, unadjusted, Swiss made.
Two-tone silver/champagne dial with bold printed Arabic Numerals and railroad minute track, original blue steel matching hands. The sub-second is located at 6 o’clock and the dial is signed with the Cortebert name.
Cased in a 25.5x26mm tonneau shape case and fancy lug design, base metal bezel and stainless-steel back.
This watch comes with a new-old-stock Hadley Roma ochre color two-piece Genuine Leather strap.
This watch is in very good condition! Runs very well and keep great time!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
